PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: in a conventional socket for a wedge base bulb, a lead wire sometimes fails to make secure contact with a contact part, and there is a possibility that malfunction such as a contact failure, short-circuiting, or the like is caused. SOLUTION: Projecting guide parts 34 are provided in the inserting direction of a base part 21 on both sides of the contact part 41, and on the inner face of a bulb holding part 30 as well. As a result, even when the lead wire 22 of the wedge base bulb 2 is bent during a manufacturing process, if the base part 21 of the wedge base bulb 2 is inserted in the bulb holding part 30 as it is, the bent lead wire 22 is corrected by action of the projecting guide parts 34 and is surely brought into contact with the contact part 41 of a contact 4.
