PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk playback device having a function of outputting a still picture corresponding to pertinent audio data even when the time search destination is in a slide show mode and has only audio data in an optical disk based on a DVD-video specification. SOLUTION: In the optical disk playback device, when there is a request of the time search, an address of the search destination is determined based on an analyzed search time, and the navigation pack of the determined address of the search destination is acquired. When there is no video data in the acquired navigation pack, the leading address of the video object unit of a preceding stage which has video data from data search information included in the acquired navigation pack and only video data are acquired by reading the data of the acquired leading address and based on general information of the data search information included in the navigation pack.
