PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform processing efficiently by switching internal circuitry depending on the data width of a memory to be connected in a circuit for converting the raster image data of an ink jet printer into column data. SOLUTION: The image data conversion circuit comprises a means for inputting data of raster formant, and changes a region being stored in an image conversion buffer depending on the bit width of data being inputted by the input means.
