PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining method of a grinding machine for manufacturing efficiently a product improved in machining accuracy and quality of the ground surface while improving machining speed as compared with conventional speed. SOLUTION: In this method, cutting is performed by relatively reciprocatively moving a workpiece 11 mounted on a workpiece mounting part 10 and a grinding wheel 12 a plurality of times and shaping the workpiece 11 by the grinding wheel 12. A grinding distance X<SB>n</SB>of the workpiece 11 by the grinding wheel 12 is within a grinding range of the workpiece 11 by the grinding wheel 12 in the previous grinding and is shorter than the previous grinding distance X<SB>n-1</SB>.
