PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist a user to independently stand up even from a sitting state where hips are put on a floor surface and legs are stretched out. SOLUTION: The subject standing-up assisting apparatus assists the user in the sitting state to stand up on his/her legs. The apparatus comprises a supporter part 200 erected on a base part 100; a backrest part 300 to be vertically moved along the supporter part 200; a seat part 400 to be vertically moved along the supporter part 200 together with the backrest part 300; a drive mechanism 500 for vertically moving the backrest part 300 and the seat part 400; and an inclining mechanism 600 for gradually inclining the tip end side of the seat part 400 downward accompanied with the elevation of the backrest part 300 and the seat part 400 when the parts 300, 400 are elevated to be higher than a predetermined height.
