PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the setting of a braking-starting time in a weft yarn-braking device for imparting a braking force to a weft yarn. SOLUTION: A remaining weft insertion length L1 to a final weft yarn-reaching position is previously input to the weft yarn-braking device 40 as an input value for determining the braking-starting time, and the weft yarn-braking device 40 determines a braking starting timing t3 andθ3 based on the remaining weft insertion length L1, and imparts the braking force to the weft yarn 4 when the determined braking-starting timing comes, in a fluid-jetting type loom causing the braking force by the weft yarn-braking device 40 when the determined braking-starting timing t3 andθ3 comes at the weft insertion to block the taking out of the weft yarn by the advance of the engaging pin 8 to finish the weft insertion in a step for unwinding the weft yarn 4 of a length-measuring and storing device 5 of the weft yarn 4 by the retreat of an engaging pin 8, and inserting the unwound weft yarn 4 to a shedding 17 by a main nozzle 10.
