In order to obtain a height-adjustable device for a extractor hood which is fixed to a cover, wherein height-adjustment is facilitated, the detent pawl (26) is engaged in the locked position such that it is prevented from being displaced along the longitudinal axis of the guide rail (24) in one direction (32) and allows said displacement to be carried out in the opposite direction (34).
