<p>The present invention is a direct-point attachment laminate system comprising: (1) a thermoplastic interlayer; (2) at least one sheet of a rigid structural load-bearing layer (structural layer); (3) at least one receptor means; and (4) at least one attachment means, wherein the thermoplastic interlayer is bonded on at least one surface to at least one sheet of the structural layer, and wherein at least one receptor means is also adhesively bonded to the thermoplastic interlayer and thereby adhesively bonded to the structural layer, wherein the receptor means is positioned to mechanically accept the attachment means, with the further proviso that the attachment means and/or the receptor means are made from materials having a coefficient of expansion that is from about 90% to about 110% of the coefficient of expansion of the structural layer.</p> |
