<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-color image forming apparatus of a long life which is equipped with a plurality of developing units and recovers residual toner after transfer by the lest possible rotation of an image carrier without color mixing of the residual toner after transfer in recycling the toner. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-color image forming apparatus has such a constitution that an inequality Twt>Drt is satisfied in the relationship between the non-image region time: Twt (=the non-image region: Tw÷apparatus image forming speed: PS) from the toner image region terminal to the next image region front end of an intermediate transfer member 30 or recording medium P and the perimeter of the first image carrier=developer recovery time: Drt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
