<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and low cost optical add/drop multiplexer capable of constituting a flexible OADM node. <P>SOLUTION: An optical add/drop multiplexer includes a wavelength blocker 11 for blocking a signal light, having at least one wavelength from among a plurality of signal lights included in WDM light S<SB>IN</SB>supplied from a transmission line L and passing the other signal light; an optical coupler 21 for multiplexing a signal light, having the same wavelength as that of the signal light blocked by the wavelength blocker 11 with respect to signal light let passed through the wavelength blocker 11; a WDM amplifier 31 for amplifying the WDM light multiplexed by the optical coupler 21 and outputting the amplified light; and an optical branch coupler 41 for branching the WDM light outputted from the WDM amplifier 31 into two beams, extracting the signal light having at least one wavelength different from the wavelength of signal light multiplexed by the optical coupler 21 from one of the branched lights, and outputting the other branched light S<SB>OUT</SB>to the transmission line L. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
