<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multipolar connector free from an increase in size even if the number of cores increases, capable of reducing the mounting area, achieving improved strength and thereby improving workability during insertion or removal of a counterpart connector. <P>SOLUTION: Contact terminals 19 on one side are mounted to a plurality of terminal mounting sections 11 on one side provided at predetermined pitches, while contact terminals 19-1 on the other side having a transmission path of the same length as the transmission path of the contact terminals 19 on the one side are mounted to terminal mounting sections 11-1 on the other side. Lead parts 22, 22-1 of the contact terminals 19, 19-1 on the one side and the other side are allowed to project in the same direction along the shorter length of the connector. A pair of contact terminals 19, 19-1 on the one side and the other side constitutes a signal terminal 20 while another pair of contact terminals 19, 19-1 on the one side and the other side constitutes a ground terminal 20-1.
