PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To much more simply store data with high security. SOLUTION: This data storage system is provided with a management server 12 equipped with a storage region DB22 and a location information DB24 on the Internet. The management server 12 is connected through the Internet to a plurality of information terminals 16 and a plurality of data servers 14. The management server 12 determines a storage region available for each user based on the storage region DB22, and transmits this to the information terminal 16. Also, the management server 12 determines whether or not the information terminal 16 and the data server 14 are present on the same Intranet based on the location information DB 24. Data acquired by the information terminal 16 are automatically transferred to a storage region 90 determined by the management server 12. When the data server 14 equipped with the storage region and the information terminal 16 are present on different Intranets, the data are transferred through the management server 12.
