PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method capable of removing thickened ink or bonded ink from the ejection opening forming surface without requiring any special mechanism or an intricate mechanism. SOLUTION: Face 22Ks is intentionally wetted with a large quantity of ink and left under that state for a predetermined time thus accelerating dissolution of thickened ink or bonded ink in the vicinity of a nozzle 22Kb. Furthermore, the ink is wiped off by means of a blade 66 thus accelerating dissolution of thickened ink or bonded ink adhering to the blade 66 without employing any special mechanism. When the ink wiped off by means of a blade 66 is recycled and reused, ink being consumed uselessly in other than printing can be reduced or eliminated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
