PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which can shorten the time to record or reproduce the information classified in two or more groups. SOLUTION: A disk 2 is divided into two recording areas 11, 12 to respectively record the information classified in two or more groups. And one area 11 can be disposed on both sides of the other area or both the areas 11, 12 can be divided further into two or more areas and arranged alternately. Depending on the information, pieces of information likely to be recorded or reproduced frequently are recorded closely one another. For example, when recording music information and navigation information, the music information of the favorite genres and artists is recorded at the position close to the area recording the navigation information or the guide information of the area where the user lives.
