PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drier, and a drying method capable of efficiently carrying out drying of an object to be dried by a simple and small scale composition. SOLUTION: The drier is provided with a net conveyor 10 provided with an endless net belt 11 having a spiral part 13 spirally rising from a lower part 15 to an upper part 14, and a communicating part 16 communicating the upper part 14 of the spiral part 13 with the lower part 15, and an air circulation mechanism bringing air dehumidified by a heat pump 50 into contact with the object to be dried on the net conveyor 10 to evaporate water contents from the object to be dried, recovering air humidified by the evaporated water contents and introducing it to the heat pump 50 to carry out dehumidification, and bringing the dehumidified air into contact with the object to be dried again.
