PURPOSE:To enable the measuremnt of a glucose soln. having a high concn. as well without dilution by adjusting the flow rate of a buffer soln. in an instru ment for feeding intermittently a sample under the state in which the buffer sonl. flows at all times and measuring the concn. of glucose. CONSTITUTION:The decomposed milk from a column 1 in which, for example, immobilized enzyme for decomposing lactose is packed is sucked at a constant rate by an automatic pipet 6 and is supplied to the buffer soln. flowing at all times in a conduit 16 by changing over a supply valve 19. The buffer sonl. is stored in a tank 14 where the quantity of the dissolved oxygen is kept saturated by the air fed from a conduit 10. The concn. of the glucose is measured by a glucose sensor when the sample passes through a reaction cell. The current change of the sensor 18 changes with the flow rate of the buffer, soln. and therefore the concn. of the glucose is determined by making preliminarily the calbration curves with respect to mutual relations among the flow rate, concn. value and the change rate of electric current, strong the equations for the respective flow rates and calibration curves into a computer 28 and selecting stepwise the same. |
