The invention relates to a waterproofing composition, to the method of manufacturing same and to the use thereof. The inventive composition is obtained from polystyrene, preferably recycled polystyrene, said product being very flexible. The raw material of the waterproofing composition consists of any type of waste polystyrene collected from rubbish dumps or any other waste source at which polystyrene or virgin polystyrene can be collected.
