<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the disposal of deteriorated toner and to prevent the degradation in image quality without the occurrence of a thin spot and the like by detecting a printing ratio, and creating a pattern for a toner image for density detection based on the the printing ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has an image forming means for forming the toner image, a belt carrying the toner image formed by the image forming means, a density detecting means for detecting the density of the toner image, a printing ratio detecting means for detecting the printing ratio in the prescribed operating quantity of the image forming means, and a pattern creating means for creating the pattern of the toner image for density detection based on the detected value of the printing ratio detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
