<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content reproducing device having a display function capable of properly displaying the detailed information of contents. <P>SOLUTION: Upon reception of a signal indicating the pressing of an "INFO" key from a key control unit 17, a system microcomputer 11 requests the data of detailed information regarding contents being reproduced to a client control IC 12. The client control IC 12 supplies the detailed information of the contents being reproduced as text data for each item to the system microcomputer 11. The system microcomputer 11 adds the information of a cursor position to the text data to supply it to a display control microcomputer 25.
