PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a three-dimensional model of high quality without laying a face in an area which is not really present. SOLUTION: Images of an object are taken by a first pickup camera 10 and a second pickup camera 20. A point group data acquisition part 31 acquires point group data (distance information) from the taken images. A polygonal processing part 32 generates temporary triangular polygon meshes from the point group data. The object 50 is irradiated with light from a surface light source 40, and an image of the object 50 is taken in this state by the first camera 10 or the second camera 20 to acquire the boundary information of the object. Invalid triangular polygon meshes are deleted by a valid polygon determination part 32 to generate valid triangular polygon meshes. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
