PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To also connect a slave device, having lower processing capability to the same network of a communications system that requires high-speed synchronization. SOLUTION: The communications system connects a master unit 1 and a plurality of slave units 4, 5, 6 via a communication network 10, transmits and receives data among the master unit 1 and slave units 4, 5, 6 with a fixed period, and performs synchronization processings among a plurality of slave units with reference to the synchronization frames transmitted at a time, to all slave units from the master unit for synchronization. Moreover, this communications system comprises a plural synchronization period generating means 3 for generating a plurality of synchronization periods to the master unit 1, and a synchronous process executing and deciding means 8 for deciding whether to execute the processings, in synchronization with the periods of a plurality of synchronization periods generated with the master unit 1 for the slave units 4, 5, 6.
