PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dub photographing data recorded from the head of a tape to the place of the completion of a photographing to a DVD by one operation in a DVD recorder connected to an IEEE 1394 serial bus. SOLUTION: When a user indicates a dubbing (YES in S2), the time code of a section corresponding to the place of the completion of the photographing in the tape is stored in a memory (S3 and S4), and the indication command of the rewinding of the tape is transmitted to a DV camera (S5). When the completion of the rewinding of the tape is detected (YES in S6), the indication command of the reproduction of the tape is transmitted to the DV camera (S7), and a picture recording (the dubbing) to the DVD of stream data transmitted from the DV camera is started (S8). When the time code contained in the stream data received from the DV camera coincides with that of the section corresponding to the place of the completion of the photographing in the tape (YES in S9), the dubbing processing is completed (S10).
