PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid storage battery which is inexpensive and suitable for an idling stop vehicle and a regenerative brake system vehicle in which deep discharge lifetime characteristics are improved by improving charging reception in the negative electrode. SOLUTION: This is the lead-acid storage battery which is provided with the positive electrode and the negative electrode composed of a positive electrode grid and a negative electrode grid which do not contain Sb, and a bag-like separator to cover the negative electrode plate, and in which the whole face of the electrode plate face of the positive electrode and the negative electrode plate is immersed in an electrolytic solution, and in which 1.0 to 30 ppm of Sb is contained in a negative electrode active material, and an expand grid is used as the negative electrode grid.
