PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of failure such as the cracking of an optical element and the deterioration of optical characteristicsby preventing thermal stress from being caused in the optical element with respect to an optical isolator which is used for optical communication, optical information processing and an optical sensor or the like. SOLUTION: In the joint structure, on which optical elements are alinged and fixed on a substrate, a metallic bump is formed on one of the optical element or the substrate and a metalized film is formed on the other and both of them are joined by ultrasonic joining , thereby suppressing the thermal stress to provide the joint structure and the joining method excellent in reliability and optical characteristics.
