PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system free from the occurrence of uneven exposure in the case of strobe-photographing at a high shutter speed. SOLUTION: The camera system is provided with a strobe apparatus capable of emitting pseudo flat light, and a shutter unit 21 having a focal plane shutter mechanism. In the shutter unit 21, the relative relation between a front curtain 25a and a rear curtain 25b at the time of slit-exposure is adjusted by changing the travelling timing and traveling speed of the rear curtain 25b to the front curtain 25a at the slit exposure by a body control microcomputer and a shutter drive control circuit 90 based on the emission characteristics at the time of emitting the pseudo flat light and the set shutter speed.
