PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rescue device of an elevator cage, capable of improving safety, and capable of reducing an installation space, with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This rescue device rescues passengers in a failure car 2 by an adjacent rescue car 1 when an elevator causes failure; and has rescue port doors 9 and 19 mutually oppositely arranged in a cage side part of the rescue car and the failure car and mutually opened in a rescure, a transfer plate 4 extractably stored in a car floor 3 on the rescue port door 9 side of the rescue car 1, a cover body 5 arranged on a car floor side surface of the rescue car and openably-closably blocking up a front face of the usually stored transfer plate, a lock device 6 arranged in a rescue port door of the rescue car and locking and unlocking the rescue port door of the rescue car by operating from the inside of the cage, and connecting mechanisms 11a, 11b, 12 and 5c arranged between the lock device and the cover body and opening and closing the cover body by interlocking with locking/unlocking operation of the rescue port door of the rescue car.
