PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron tip, which has a long service life, does not deteriorate the quality of welded part, and has excellent workability and soldering quality even in the case of using a lead-free solder, and to provide a soldering iron equipped with the iron tip. SOLUTION: An iron tip 1A is mounted on the side of one end part of a soldering iron having a heat source, and is heated by the heat source to melt the solder that is brought into contact therewith. On the surface of the iron tip 1A, a ceramic layer 4, in which metal nanoparticles 4b are mixed, is formed. The metal nanoparticles consist of at least one metal selected from nickel, tin, gold, silver, copper, brass, lead, zinc, and iron, or an alloy containing the one metal selected above.
