PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external facing backing panel and a tiling method using this facing backing panel, for reducing a cutting loss, by preventing a surface step height, even when installed on and applied to an existing wall surface. SOLUTION: In this external facing backing panel 10, the reverse side is composed of a foaming thermal insulation material 11, and the obverse side is composed of a metallic panel 12. These external foaming thermal insulation material 11 and metallic panel 12 are adhered via a resin layer 13. Roughening processing is applied to a surface of the metallic plate 12.
