PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a building board especially having little dispersion in bending strengths. SOLUTION: The building board is produced by uniformly spreading a mixture prepared by adding a liquid binder for bonding fibers to an inorganic fiber such as rock wool and the like and an organic fiber such as woody fiber or the like to form a mat and hot pressing the mat. In producing the boards (36, 49) comprising two or more layers, at least the surface layers (35, 38) are formed by the aforesaid method. The intermediate layers (34, 47) between the surface and the back surface are preferably formed by uniformly spreading the mixture 18 prepared by adding the liquid binder for bonding an inorganic foam body and an organic fiber to the inorganic foam body and the organic fiber to form the mat 17 and hot pressing the mat.
