The device has a drum (1) with circular or polygonal cross-section and rotates about a rotation axis (2). Mass production components to be treated are provided within the drum. An opening (5) for loading and unloading of the drum extends in an axial direction. A section (6) of a lateral surface of the drum, in the region of the opening, is bent into the drum, where the lateral surface is provided between two sidewalls of the drum.
