<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an optimal gradation conversion processing for each part of the body, when displaying a medical image. <P>SOLUTION: The medical image display device 3 displays a medical image (CT image) obtained from the CT device 11, and when a certain position is designated by a mouse operation on the CT image, an average value and a standard deviation of the CT valve at the designated position and its periphery are calculated. Processing conditions for gradation conversion corresponding to the calculated average value and standard deviation are selected (defined) from a gradation conversion table which is previously set for each part of the body.
