Preparation and processing in pharmacologically applicable form of a bactericidal medicament and a disinfectant are described, whose active constituent consists of 1-isoalkyl-6-fluoro-4-oxo-7-imidazoline- quinoline-3-carboxylic acid and 1-cycloalkyl-6-fluoro-4- oxo-7-imidazoline-quinoline-3-carboxylic acid which, as an amphoteric compound, can form salts and proves to be highly effective against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria in conjunction with low human toxicity.
