<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which accomplishes a low height and secures the reliability of the contact between a plug contact and a receptacle contact. <P>SOLUTION: Either contact of the plug contact 6 and the receptacle contact 4 has: an outer piece 41 extending in the insertion/pulling-out direction of the plug; a central piece 43; a holding part 40; a horizontal coupling part 51; a first deflection piece 52, a coupling part 50; a second deflection piece 56; a third deflection piece 57; a contact convex part 58 having a bent part; and a contact part 55 composed of a horizontal piece. The other contact thereof has: a first contact surface part 61 extending in the insertion/pulling-out direction; a second contact surface part 62 opposing to the first contact surface part; and a coupling surface part 63 to couple one end of the first contact surface part and one end of the opposing second contact surface part.
