PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer for space formation usable even when a backing material is not formed of a magnetic substance, and capable of providing excellent workability, securely and stably forming clearances between boards, and reducing the number of workers. SOLUTION: This spacer for space formation is fixed to and released from an inner wall 12 by merely inserting and extracting an insertion member 14 between the inner wall 12 and boards 11 for trimming of a building. Accordingly, the spacer 10 can be used irrespective of the material of the inner wall 12. Also, the spacer can provide excellent workability in installing for space formation, and securely and stably form a specified clearance between the boards 11.
