PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which the EMC (Electric Compatibility) characteristic is enhanced while suppressing the EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) and also mechanical durability to the inserting and the pulling out of a connector is enhance in an optical module. SOLUTION: An optical receptacle which is to be used in the optical module is an optical receptacle which is configured so that it has a fiber stub which is constituted by fixing an optical fiber in the through hole of a ferrule, and the rear end of the fiber stub is fixed to a holder, and a sleeve for holding a plug ferrule which is to be connected to the top end of the fiber stub is fixed at the top end of the stub, and the outer periphery of the sleeve is held by a sleeve case, and also the rear end of the sleeve case is held by the holder, and the receptacle is characterized in that the rear end of the sleeve case has the insulating material and the top end being the insertion port side of the sleeve case has a relatively hard material.
