PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smell measuring instrument simple in constitution, capable of enhancing the throughput or precision in the measurement of a smell and capable of reducing the consumption amount of standard air required in washing treatment, and to provide a smell measuring method. SOLUTION: The smell measuring instrument is equipped with a smell sensor 100 having a response part 101 capable of feeling the smell of gas, a gas supply means 200 capable of supplying the gas to the response part 101 and an ozone gas supply means 300 capable of supplying an ozone gas to the response part 101 in place of a conventional smell measuring instrument for measuring the smell of the gas.
