PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition containing gypsum with which machinability is improved, dust is not produced, cutting and milling can be performed with greater speed, produced models are dimensionally stable and maintain sharp and detailed edge. SOLUTION: In the composition and a method for forming the composite material comprising a mixture of component A and component B, the component A comprises gypsum and an inhibitor and the component B comprises an accelerator and at least one of the component A and component B further comprises a polymer binder having a Tg of below -23°C. The Shore D hardness of the composite material when cured is less than 70. The method includes a step for providing a first slurry mixture of the component A and a second slurry mixture of the component B and a step for blending the first slurry mixture and the second slurry mixture to form a soft composite using a weight ratio of from 10:1 to 1:2.
