PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a correct width size of a size medium other than a fixed form size set at a sheet feeding part. SOLUTION: The printer is equipped with (A) the sheet feeding part where a medium to be printed is set, (B) a regulating guide set to be relatively movable to the sheet feeding part so as to regulate a positional deviation of the medium in the vicinity of an end of the medium set in the sheet feeding part, and (C) a position sensor capable of detecting an arbitrary position of the regulating guide to the sheet feeding part.
