PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a scale, which is simply adjusted in its position and can be fixed with high reliability even after adjustment, in a cutter at a low cost. SOLUTION: The scale 24 housed in the grooves 21 and 22 of a table saw 1 is constituted of the scale main body 25 having graduations entered in its surface and has a key hole-shaped notch 26 formed in its end part and the adjusting spring 27 connected to the notch 26 of the scale main body 25. The adjusting spring 27 is composed of the connection part 28 fitted in the notch 26 of the scale main body 25 and the square elastic end parts 19 and 29 extending to both ends of the connection part 28 and fixed in the state housed in the grooves 21 and 22 along the scale main body 25 by elastically pressing the inside surfaces of the grooves 21 and 22 by the projections 30 provided to the outside corner parts of the elastic end parts 29 and 29. If the pressing to the grooves 21 and 22 is released by picking the knob pieces 31 and 31 provided to the elastic end parts 29 and 29 by fingers, the adjusting spring can be slid to an arbitrary position along with the scale main body 25.
