PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and tool for removing a blind rivet with which the blind rivet can simply be removed from members fastened by using the blind rivet. SOLUTION: In the method for removing the rivet 3 from fastened basic materials 1,2 fastened with the blind rivet 3, a punch 5 is inserted into a rivet barrel part hole 3b from a flange 3a side, and a mandrel 4 is pulled out and a screw is cut into the rivet barrel part hole 3b by using a spiral tap tool 6, and a first and a second removing tools 7,8 are held to the fastened basic material 1 at the flange 3a side under a closely fitting state. Then, the first and the second removing tools 7,8 are closely fitted by using a screw part worked in the barrel part hole 3b and a male screw 9, and under the fixed state so as not to rotate the second removing tool 8, the rivet barrel part 3c is broken by shifting a shifting part 7a capable of advancing/retreating with the screw, etc., of the first removing tool 7, and the rivet 3 is removed.
