PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more compact puncher in which a large pad is eliminated at piercing work, and a work is pressed in only minimum places necessary to the piercing work, and with which a piercing die is provided at a low cost by reducing parts to be machined as far as possible. SOLUTION: This puncher constituted of: a piercing punch; a punch retainer for holding the piercing punch; a cover with which the piercing punch is covered, from which the tip part of the piercing punch is projected, and which houses the punch retainer; a stripper which is externally fitted to the piercing punch, presses the work before piercing the work with the piercing punch, pulls the piercing punch out of the work after piercing, is housed in the cover and is moved back and forth, and at the rear end of which a stop flange is formed; and a coil spring which is housed in the cover, brings the stripper into contact with the stopping flange, and energizes the stripper toward the outside.
