PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device for a liquid chemical injection apparatus with which the state of a liquid chemical injection chamber of the liquid chemical injection apparatus is monitored, so that an effect of a liquid chemical to be injected can be confirmed, the injected liquid chemical can be mixed homogeneously in a liquid in the liquid chemical injection chamber, the precipitation of calcium carbonate or the like can be prevented and the improvement of the action of the liquid chemical can be anticipated and to provide a pumping system. SOLUTION: The monitoring device is used for monitoring the liquid chemical injection apparatus constituted in such a manner that the liquid chemical injection chamber is arranged in a rotary machine installed in an underground liquid storage tank in order to prevent the Ca content flowing out of the wall surface of the liquid storage tank from being precipitated on a rotating part of the rotary machine as calcium carbonate or the like and the liquid chemical or clean water is injected into the liquid chemical injection chamber from the ground, wherein the monitoring device is constituted in such a manner that a bundle 35 of optical fibers is inserted into an injection pipe 10 for injecting the liquid chemical or clean water into the liquid chemical injection chamber from the ground and the inside of the liquid chemical injection chamber 6 and/or monitoring points in its vicinity can be monitored through optical fibers 34.
