PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope light source system capable of using a light source which emits color light other than white light as an auxiliary light source of an endoscope. SOLUTION: The endoscope light source system 10 is equipped with a main light source 11, the auxiliary light source 12, a control circuit 13, a switch driving circuit 16 and an amplification circuit 17. An auxiliary light switch is connected to the control circuit 13. Switching from a main light source mode to an auxiliary light mode is possible by operating the auxiliary light switch when turning off of the main light source 11 is detected. In each mode of the main light source mode and the auxiliary light mode, the control circuit 13 outputs a signal to the switch driving circuit 16 and the amplification circuit 17. In the main light source mode, the main light source 11 is optically connected to a light guide 32 and the main light source 11 is made to emit light. In the auxiliary light mode, the auxiliary light source 12 is optically connected to the light guide 32 by being driven by the switch driving circuit 16, and the auxiliary light source 12 is made to emit light. An image pickup element 31 generates an image signal corresponding to the image of a photographic subject illuminated by the auxiliary light source 12.
