The method involves determining an orientation of distal ends (28) of a probe relative to proximal ends by wireless transmission of an energy field between the ends. A part of a medical procedure is controlled in response to the orientation. The energy field is transmitted from a transmitter into the proximal ends during determination of the orientation. The energy field is received into the distal ends by a receiver. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a device for executing medical procedure (B) a method of imaging cavities under application of endoscopes (C) an endoscopic imaging system.
