<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing pixels which are not displayed from appearing in a linear form. <P>SOLUTION: The method for correcting a display substrate of an electric field emission type display device includes an electronic source having a structure laminated with an electrode 11 on a signal line side, an insulation layer (electron acceleration layer) 12, and an electrode 13 of a scanning line side in this order. Relating to the electronic source in which the electrode 13 on the scanning line side and the electrode 11 on the signal line side are shorted by a defect 16 in this case, the conduction of the electrode 13 on the scanning line side and the electrode 11 on the signal line side is cut off. More specifically, the electrode 13 on the scanning line side around (80) the defect portion 16 is excised by a laser beam.
