<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning method of a line head, and an image forming apparatus using a positioned line head. <P>SOLUTION: A wiring cable 93, a light emitting part 63 using an organic EL element, a driving circuit 88 and a lead wire 92 are formed on a glass substrate 62. The wiring cable 92 functions as a module for alignment. A rod lens 84 is constituted in two arrays. One side edge in a longitudinal direction of the glass substrate 62 is pressed by leaf springs 85a and 85b. The wiring cable 93 is observed, and the glass substrate 62 is moved in a sub scanning direction while being adjusted by screws 86a and 86b for adjustment.
