PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling device easily to connect a first installing member to a second installing member, and also easily to release the connection. SOLUTION: The coupling device 5 is comprised of a clip 1 composed of a flange 6 and a shaft 7 in which a first elastic engaging hook 9 elastically overhanging laterally is formed, and a retaining plate 2 to retain the first installing member between the flange 6. When inserted into an inserting hole of the second installing member, the shaft 7 retains the first elastic engaging hook 9 the second retaining member (23) together with the retaining plate 2. A second elastic engaging hook 15 engaged in the first elastic engaging hook 9 is formed extending inward in the retaining plate. The second elastic engaging hook 15 is engaged in the first elastic engaging hook 9 to engage the retainer 2 to the shaft 7. When the retainer plate 2 engaged in the shaft 7 is exerted by external force to release the retaining plate from the flange 6, the second elastic engaging hook 15 engaged in the first elastic engaging hook 9 makes the first elastic engaging hook 9 flex inside the shaft to disengage the second installing member from the inserting hole edge part.
