PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper device for windshield capable of securing the rigidity and absorbing certainly any large impact force applied from the outside. SOLUTION: The wiper device is equipped with a wiper arm 20 where a wiper blade is coupled, a pivot 16 wherewith the wiper arm 20 is coupled to its forefront 16a arranged protruding on a car body panel 30 and a link member 17 is coupled with its base end 16b so as to make rotation reciprocatively through the link member 17, and a pivot holder 11 in which a cylindrical bearing part 12 to support the pivot 16 rotatably and a car body fixing part 13 attached to the body panel 31 are formed consolidatedly through a transverse plate 14, wherein a rod-shaped member 15 consisting of a material different from that of the transverse plate 14 is embedded in the specified position on the transverse plate 14.
