PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup control system capable of archiving a rewriting prohibited data in a write-once read-many type magnetic disk for a long period, in a form of securing an original text property. SOLUTION: The first control information registered with both a file name for specifying the data in the magnetic disk of a backup object and a serial number of a backup magnetic tape is stored when backing up the data in the write-once read-many type magnetic disk or the like in an interchangeable and recordable type storage medium such as the recordable type magnetic tape, an authentication value is generated to confirm the original text property of the first control information, and the second control information added with an electronic signature is stored in a document including the authentication value. When restoring the data in the write-once read-many type magnetic disk, the serial number of the backup magnetic tape is checked by the first control information and the second control information to be restored from the correct magnetic tape.
