PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch circuit wherein signal processing is made possible in a two-dimensional photonic crystal plane and high integration is made possible and which can be operated with low optical power. SOLUTION: The optical switch circuit has a resonance tunnel filter constituted of a pair of waveguides 5 and 6 formed on the two-dimensional photonic crystal 4 and a resonator 7 disposed between the pair of waveguides 5 and 6. A signal light and a control light resonating with the resonator 7 are inputted from one of the pair of waveguides 5 and 6 and taken out from the other to modulate the signal light by the control light.
